Food matters. Meals are full of significance. Food helps us connect and communicate with others and it was utilized in a major way by Jesus during his earthly ministry. In Luke 7:34 we read, “The Son of Man came eating and drinking…”. Jesus spent so much time eating and drinking with others that he was even accused of being a glutton and a drunkard! Jesus’ mission strategy regularly involved a meal where conversations could happen, relationships could develop, and important lessons could be taught. The meals Jesus had with others were a sign of friendship, community, and reconciling grace. So pull up a chair to the table and dig in as we explore some of the significant conversations and lessons we learn from dinners with Jesus in the Gospels.
